Barents Re Expands with Marine Cargo Specialist Appointment

Barents Re is announcing today the appointment of David Burns to lead its Marine Cargo business. The appointment of David Burns signifies a broadening of Barents Re’s business lines in London with Marine Cargo added to the portfolio of Energy, Aviation, Financial Lines, Liability, Accident & Health and the recent addition of Renewable Energy.  David will be based in the London office and will report to Chris Charlton, UK Managing Director.

David Burns has over 30 years’ experience in Marine Cargo insurance underwriting and broking, predominantly in the London market but also internationally in Singapore, over which time he has built a wealth of knowledge and contacts in the core Marine sectors of Cargo, Hull, Yachts, Specie and Fine Art.  David joins from ProSight Specialty Insurance Syndicate having also worked previously, amongst others, for Swiss Re and Axa Corporate Solutions.
